This light and breezy rectangle in two sizes (scarf/stole), is begun on a provisional cast on and worked from the center back to hem in a series of patterns that progresses from solid to more open and lacy. Trellis, vine, and leaf motifs tell the story of the vineyard as harvest time nears, forming a fabric that invites the autumn light to filter through. Complex to the eye, the lace is actually quite simple and entertaining to work. The final result is a stunning composition that offers a warm and beautiful layer on cool fall days.
