Snug Cap for all Sizes

This is a knitting pattern for a snug cap in 18 sizes knits up quickly in a range of yarn weights to fit any individual size. An optional trim of beaded I-cord “dreds” or tassel may be added. Includes worksheet for determining hat size, gauge, and cast-on number.
Suggested Yarns:
Finn Dandy 3-ply Sport, Stone Soup DK, Better Breakfast DK, Kent DK, or any DK-to-chunky weight yarn. Substituting yarn and/or needles may result in an overall variation in size, drape, and yardage requirement.
Finished Size:
Hat will range from 15 to 24 inches finished (above ribbing) to fit heads ranging from 17 to 27 inches; final size is determined by gauge, yarn, and needle choices
Yarn Requirements:
100 to 200 yards of worsted weight yarn
125 to 250 yards of DK yarn
80 to 150 yards of chunky weight yarn
Gauge:
3.5 to 5 sts per inch; individual gauge to be calculated on worksheet included
Test swatch should be a firmly knit fabric
16-inch circular needle in the size recommended on the yarn label for body
16-inch circular needle one size smaller for ribbing (optional)
1 set DPNs in same size as body needle
