Knitting pattern of an easy-to-work triangle shawl with a pretty lace edge that is begun at the center top and knit outwards to the scalloped hem.

Suggested Yarns:
Kent Lace, Finn Dandy 3-ply Sport, Modern Deco Lace, Better Breakfast Fingering, Stone Soup Fingering, Shetlandia Fingering, Jacob Fingering, or any soft fingering or sport yarn. Substituting yarn and/or needles may result in an overall variation in size, drape, and yardage requirement.
Finished Size:
For lacy version: 72 to 78 inches across top edge; 34 to 38 inches at center back For simplest version: 72 to 78 inches across top edge; 34 to 38 inches at center back
Yarn Requirements:
For lacy version: 1,100 to 1,400 yards of fingering weight yarn;
For simplest version: 700 to 1,000 yards of novelty yarn
Gauge:
Note this shawl can be worked in any gauge, but it is essential to knit a 4” swatch in garter stitch to test your chosen yarn and needles. Instructions for the lacy version are based on a gauge of 4 or 5 stitches per inch
Needles:
For lacy version: Size US7 (4.5mm), US8 (5mm), or US9 (5.5mm) circular needles to obtain a gauge of 4 or 5 stitches per inch
For Simplest version: Circular needle that is 3 to 4 sizes larger than recommended on yarn label
