Hat

Hat is 8" /20cm from bottom edge to top of crown. Hat measures 20 (22, 24)"/51 (56, 61)cm in circumference and is stretchy.

Scarf

Scarf is worked flat, in one long piece, folded, and sewn together to form an outer layer and lining measuring 64" /162.Scm when finished. Finished scarf is 5.5" /14cm wid, after blocking.

Scarf measures 5.5”/14cm x 64”/162.5cm

Hat measures 20 (22, 24)”/51 (56, 61)cm around and 8”/20cm tall

Gauge: 23 sts and 32 rows in 4”/10cm on stockinette using size US 4/3.5mm needles taken after blocking.

Needles: Fabric (cabled portion of hat and all of scarf): size US 4/3.5mm 30”/80cm (or any length) circular or straight needle.

2. Holie Mittens by Isabella Clark (knit)

Sizes

- 1 (2) - Finished mitten circumferences: 7 (8.2)” / 17.8 (21)cm & Finished mitten lengths: 8.25 (8.6)” / 21 (22)cm.

- Sample is shown in size 1.

- Sport weight yarn.

- Main Color (MC): Bare Naked Wools - Festivus 9.0 Sport: 100% merino wool, 380yds per 115g skein.

Colorway: Snowflake. 45 (55)g total required.

- Adjust needle size to obtain the correct gauge.

3. Orion by Jessica McDonald (Knit)

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS

Hat circumference: (18, 21, 24) inches / (45, 52.5, 60) cm

Hat height: (7.5, 8.75, 10.25) inches / (19, 22, 25.5) cm

Choose the size closest to the recipient’s head circumference. Stranded colorwork is typically less stretchy than regular stockinette.

YARN

(1, 1, 1) skein  Festivus 9.0 Sport in red (MC) and (1, 1, 1) skein Festivus 9.0 Sport in white (CC).

Or (155, 190, 230) yards / (142, 174, 211) meters MC, (45, 55, 65) yards / (42, 51, 60) meters CC sport weight yarn.

NEEDLES

One 32-inch (80 cm) US size 5 (3.75 mm) (or size needed to obtain gauge), and one 32-inch (80 cm) US size 3 (3.25 mm) (or two whole sizes smaller than gauge needle) circular knitting needles.

Note: Magic loop is used for all small circumference knitting in my patterns. If you prefer, you can use a smaller length circular needle or double pointed needles of the same sizes to work the hat.

NOTIONS

Stitch marker, and a tapestry needle.

GAUGE

24 stitches and 28 RNDS = 4 inches / 10 cm in allover colorwork pattern on US size 5 (3.75 mm) needles.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Width: 11¼” / 28 cm Length: 82¾ ” / 210 cm (fringe included)

MATERIALS Yarn C1: Sport Weight Yarn Festivus 9.0 Sport, Bare Naked Wools (100% Merino wool, 380 yd / 347 m / 115 g), 2 skeins in colourway Snowflake. Or, 622 yd / 568 m of sport weight yarn.

C2: Sport Weight Yarn Targhee Tango Sport, Bare Naked Wools (100% Targhee Wool, 400 yd / 365 m / 115 g), 2 skeins in colourway Apilado. Or, 644 yd / 587 m of sport weight yarn.

Needles: US 4 / 3.5 mm 40" / 100 cm circular needles. Notions: Cable needle (2), darning needle.

GAUGE

27 sts x 54 rows to 4" / 10 cm in Nuance pattern, after blocking.

5. Cold Winter's Night Socks by Mary O'Shea (Knit)

6. Cold Winter's Night Stocking by Mary O'Shea (Knit)

6.0 mm hook (main gauge), 5.0 mm hook (detailing), or sizes needed to obtain gauge. I used my Clover Amours. I’m a tight crocheter, so you may have to go down in hook sizes.
